In the Edo period, 

the technique of Sakiori was born out of a profound respect for precious fabrics, 

using them meticulously until every last thread was utilized. 

Yet in modern times, 

clothing is not just abundant but often discarded thoughtlessly in vast quantities. 

In confronting this modern culture of waste, 

I've come to realize that even today, Sakiori can bring forth its purpose and fulfill its role. 

The garments rendered obsolete,

The fabrics deemed valueless, 

Breathing new life into what lies in the shadows.

Embracing the timeless and pure intention of “cherishing what's in front of us”. 

Sakiori persists across ages.

 It evolves from discarded materials into experimental projects, 

instilling a new vitality into what was once abandoned.
